Work

Adele's career has been devoted to gaining an astute and rigorously researched understanding of ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) and, more broadly, Additional Support Needs. 

She has a deep understanding of the needs of individuals with ASD and provides training, consultation and expert advice to organisations including schools, universities, city councils and police departments.

Adele has established and managed Authority Based Units, attached to mainstream education establishments, with the objective of ensuring children with additional support needs have opportunity to develop within the mainstream education system. She has also worked closely with individual families.




Recent projects include: 

  • Working with Skills Development Scotland on an ongoing basis, to deliver Additional Support Needs training nationwide 
  • Providing autism training to the development officers at BT Murrayfield stadium, the home of Scottish rugby (pictured above)
  • Delivering autism training to staff at Elanora State School on The Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia
  • Working with the team that created the “Social Interaction Pack" published and used throughout Scotland 
  • Developing and delivering training on ASD for all Renfrewshire schools 
  • Leadership role in co-ordinating and creating ASD policy in Renfrewshire, Scotland
  • Shaping the Transition Strategy within the organisation, Enable
